Inconsolable

Harry has been completely inconsolable for hours. I think he's just really tired but he won't go to sleep. He's nursed multiple times; he's had his diaper changed; we've changed his clothes. The swing doesn't help. The glider doesn't either. He doesn't like swaddling. It's so incredibly difficult to listen to him cry and cry and cry and feel like there's nothing I can do to make it better.

I'm so sorry... sometimes babies just have to cry for a little while. I hope it calms down soon, for all of you.

Sucks that you're both having such a rotten day. I feel physical pain when LL cries like that. Other things that often work for us: car rides, walking outdoors, sitting him on top of a running clothes dryer, swinging him up and down in a car seat, holding him in a sling while bouncing.

Good luck! Hope tomorrow is better.

I can only hope he's rested now, but just in case...have you tried taking him for a ride in the car? Or putting him in the car seat and running the vacuum?

Yes, sometimes they do just need to cry, just like we do, so I know how it aches to hear them so thouroughly unhappy.

I'm sorry. It isn't your fault.

I'm certainly no expert in the baby department, but the only way my cousin could console her baby boy was by putting him in the car and driving around the block for an hour.

Every. single. night.

But it worked like a charm.

I'm so sorry :( I hope little Harry finds relief soon. At least for the sake of his mommy. It must be so hard.
