My stepmother called yesterday and apologized for being such a mega-bitch (a point to those who catch the reference). They are coming to the baptism. She was stressed because her mother is in the hospital and she felt like her father and sister were conspiring to keep her out of the loop. It sucks that she took it out on me and threatened to take it out on Harry, but I'm glad it's resolved. I think they and my stepgrandfather are going to come by this afternoon. It'll be his first time meeting Harry. He's a bit of a, hmm, how to put it, loon? But I know he's looking forward to meeting another grandchild (Harry is his fifth, with another on the way).

On the whole baptism front, I have no idea what to have Harry baptized in. Neither of us is really keen on the whole dress thing (I'm probably more open to it than P), but the only non-dress Christening outfits seem to be shorts, which doesn't really work for New England in November. My priest said his own son was baptized in striped overalls, so he isn't really particular about attire, so Harry may wear offwhite overalls and a white bodysuit, but I'm open to suggestions, especially those offering rush shipping since we only have six days...

Oh good, I'm really glad your stepmother called.

I don't know much about the baptism outfit--my niece was baptized in a pale pink fleece onesie, I seem to remember. I was at Baby Depot (at Burlington Coat Factory) yesterday, and was amazed at all the fancy little baptism outfits they had. Like a while wall of them. You might be able to find something there.

I was just about to suggest Burlington too, since I saw that same little wall of baptism outfits. Or you could try one of those fancy stores in the mall that sells all the little girl's dresses. Or maybe a bridal shop will have a pair of little white pants.

Target has a pantset available online for christening.

Also, this website has some cute boy options:

we were at a loss for an outfit for henry, too... but some sweet ladies from my father-in-law's church came up with an outfit for us. it's summery, though. Maria will wear her sisters-in-laws' baptismal gown.
glad it's going to work out with your stepmom, and I'm sorry about P's grandmother...

My son was 13 months old at baptism, and it was February. He wore a sweater set that my husband wore (green knitted pants and matching white sweater with green design), and my mom made a teeny stole for him with a baptism emblem.
We couldn't find anything that was appropriate for weather or size.

So I would look around if you have clothes from your childhood taht are meaningful, or just find a nice outfit with an overwhelming amount of white, or make a stole!
