Dreary Monday

Sitting here in my office, walking the halls, staring at the monitor, it almost feels like I never left. Then I see the animal mom-baby pairs on the 2008 Wildlife Families calendar that is still on my wall and feel a tremendous ache in my heart.

If anyone has any good jokes or funny stories to keep me busy (since I have absolutely no work, which makes it that much harder to be here), please send them my way -- post here or send me an email at ourboxofrain at gmail.

Swing by colleauges offices to say hello and reconnect. Especially those senior associates/partners you enjoyed working with. Make sure you go to all department lunches so people know you are back. And I'll come by later this afternoon to say hi!

Why do penguins sit on marshmallows?

To keep from falling into the hot chocolate!

(One of my favorite jokes of all time.)

Early in the Iraq War, Donald Rumsfeld was giving George Bush his daily briefing. He concluded by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"Oh no!" the President exclaimed. "That's terrible!"

His staff sat stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sat with his head in his hands.

Finally, President Bush looked up and asked, "How many is a brazillion?"

What do you call a cow with no feet?

Ground. Beef.

What do you call a cow who just had a baby?

De-calf-inated.

I have about a dozen of those, if you need more.

I hope the rest of the day went well.

I'm not as good with the jokes so I'm just sending a hug. When I got really sad i just started printing out pictures, before I knew it my office was wall papered with her. At least it makes me smile

Good luck!

Hey, I'm back at work too. And it does seem like I never left. Maybe you'd be up for coffee sometime?
